Subject: True Blood
I don't remember where I heard about it, but there's a new TV show out of the States called True Blood. It's about vampires, and it's damnably cool. I'm watching the first episode right now and I think it is, as far as TV shows go, one of the coolest things I've ever seen. OK, it just ended, and it's definitely one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
The acting is great, the people attractive, the plot plausible... Well, as plausible as a vampire show can be...
The Story
So the Japanese invent synthetic blood with enough of the dietary requirements a vampire needs that they don't need to hunt humans anymore... So this whole new race suddenly appears in the midst of normal society, and it causes just as much chaos as you'd imagine. The show focuses on one waitress in a Louisiana bar, and the assorted lunatics who frequent the place or live nearby.
It's got cursin', titties and blood. Good, solid family entertainment, recommended by NFG.
So far. We'll see how #2 is. =)
