Subject: National Jam - NFG's writeup
The NatJam is now over and I think it's safe to say that everyone who attended had a fantastic time. Approximately sixty people from across Australia made the journey to Melbourne, made new friends, and trained hard over the weekend.
The Queenslad crew flew down on Thursday afternoon, and we checked in along with other early arrivals at Urban Central. From Friday morning the fun began. We spent the day exploring the city, hanging out with some of the other arrivals, and playing some great parkour around Melbourne's docklands and CBD.
Melbourne, as it turns out, is a fantastic place for parkour. There's a fantastic variety of environments and they're not too far from each other. By the end of Friday we'd walked across a large swathe of the city, and wound up tired and happy back at UC. Most of the people coming to the National Jam had arrived by this time, and the vibe was happy as old friends were reunited and new friends made.
Saturday morning was when the real fun started. Everyone met in the morning and separated into groups, and proceeded to enjoy the environments of Melbourne with glee and gusto. From the Docklands to Southbank to the Melbourne Uni and all points between we ran, jumped, vaulted and flew over every obstacle in our paths.
The fun didn't stop there. Sunday was a lot more of the same, starting with a serious training session that left most attendees grinning like fools even while their bodies were weak and shaking with fatigue.
The 2007 National Jam ended with a BBQ where most people ate their fill of sausages and said their goodbyes.
